acrylic on canvas on board
50cm x 70cm
The death of my husband came all too soon after our marriage, a second marriage for both of us. We were given six short years together and one miraculous son, who may have had the oldest parents in our community the year he was born and who would never know his father. This painting is about that sudden loss and how life doesn’t stop, even for a moment, it continues, fills in and fills up. There is no getting over the loss of someone you love, there is only missing them, being grateful for the time you shared and wishing you had more.
