In the beginning was the Word, 2021

$2,500.00

acrylic on canvas on board

50cm x 70cm

Growing up I spent Sundays in church. At times, my mother was my Sunday school teacher and she prepared bible stories to share using a felt board and images that stuck in place. As she told the story she would place these illustrative cutouts of bible characters, of a well, of a camel, whatever the story needed. I loved this building up of the image, piece by piece until the story was fully illustrated on the soft pale blue felted surface. I often volunteered to place each piece, press it down, make it stick.
