Suspended in Time, 2021

$2,500.00
sold out

acrylic on canvas on board

50cm x 70cm

Most of my images suggest things in action, moving, propelled in various directions, falling into place - like an old fashioned pinball game. This piece, however, achieved the opposite effect. Its surface looked frozen, as if I was looking through thick ice at the immobilized structures below. I was struck by its unmoving nature and thought about the time when I was a teenager, depressed, finding it difficult to be in the world, to feel that I belonged and just wanted life to stop for a few moments.
